So you've booked a photo session with your favorite photographer, but you have no idea what location to chose? Lucky for you, I’ve explored some fantastic spots that are both gorgeous and close to home! Pullman might feel like a small town, but it’s bursting with awesome (and underrated) photo-shoot locations that could rival any city's. Keep reading and I’ll share my top recommendations for locations that will help you choose the perfect setting for any photo occasion.
Sunnyside Park: Ideal for Family Photoshoots
Sunnyside Park is my top choice for family photos, offering both beauty and practicality. It's easy, accessible, and perfect for large groups. The play structure is a hit with kids, adding a fun element to your pictures (or a distraction for tired kiddos)
The park’s lush greenery, charming pond, and scenic trails provide a range of backdrops within a short walk.
Downtown Pullman: My Favorite for Senior Photos
If you’re looking for a photoshoot spot that combines nature and city vibes, I recommend Downtown Pullman’s Riverwalk Path and Pine Street Plaza.
The Riverwalk Path offers a scenic trail along the South Fork of the Palouse River. A beautiful bike bridge connects you to Pine Street Plaza, where you’ll find vibrant murals by local artists and a more modern backdrop. It’s a great spot for combining natural beauty with the unmistakable charm of Downtown Pullman.
Cougar Crest Apartments Overlook: Amazing Sunset Photos
Cougar Crest Apartments Overlook is my top spot for couple photos. The sweeping views of Pullman are breathtaking and perfect for capturing the legendary Pullman sunsets (Second only to the Walmart Parking lot.. If you know, you know)
Washington State University (WSU) Campus: Iconic
The WSU campus is a treasure trove of stunning locations, with its historic buildings, manicured lawns, and beautiful landscaping. Whether you’re shooting graduation portraits, engagement photos, or creative projects, the campus provides that classic Coug feel we have come to know and love.
Conservation Park: Hiking Vibes in the City
A short walk away from Jefferson Elementary, Conservation Park has an adorable bench with a peaceful Pullman overlook, winding trails, a dense tree area and a curated set of native Palouse Prairie plant species. It’s ideal for nature lovers and those seeking a more adventurous and organic look for their photos.
Stratton’s Cutting Garden: A Hidden Gem
Located slightly "off the beaten path" on Old Moscow Rd., this gorgeous locally owned flower farm is tucked into the rolling hills of the Palouse. The owner Jane and her dog Gus have created a magical floral garden bursting with colorful seasonal blooms in the spring/summer season and an adorable pumpkin patch in the fall season.
Whether you’re a local resident or visiting Pullman for the first time, embrace the charm of this beautiful town and let its varied landscapes and settings inspire you!
See you around town soon!
